G.GREGORY EVANSTHE FINAL PITCH ENGINEERING LEADER · HANDS-ON BUILDER CONTACT GREG

01 / THE BRIEFING

THE FINAL PITCH

CALLSIGN: MAVERICK

Conventional thinking got you here. Now it’s time for something unconventional.

You’ve built your organization around best practices, established processes, carefully defined roles, and people who know how to stay inside the lines. And maybe that’s worked pretty well for you. But if doing things the way they’ve always been done was enough, you probably wouldn’t be looking for someone to help take your engineering organization somewhere new.

02 / WHEN CONDITIONS CHANGE

AN UNCONVENTIONAL CANDIDATE.

Now, I’m not going to pretend I’m your typical corporate leadership candidate. I don’t have the perfectly polished executive vocabulary, I don’t believe every problem requires another meeting, and I’m probably going to question a few things that everyone else has quietly agreed not to question.

I’m also going to make mistakes, laugh at myself when I do, and expect the people around me to challenge my thinking just as readily as I challenge theirs.

03 / THE TEAM

THE PEOPLE ARE THE POINT.

Because leadership isn’t about being the smartest person in the room. It’s about building a team of people who can accomplish things none of us could accomplish alone, making sure they have what they need to succeed, and having their backs when things get difficult.

I believe in giving people room to fly, trusting them to know their aircraft, and making damn sure nobody gets left behind.

04 / THE LAST WORD

KNOW WHICH RULES MATTER.

And yes, sometimes that means throwing out the flight plan when the situation demands it. Not because rules don’t matter, but because understanding why they exist is more important than blindly following them.

You can hire someone who knows how to follow the playbook. Or you can have a conversation with someone who’s willing to question whether it’s the right playbook in the first place.

I’m Greg Evans. I build things, I develop people, and I don’t particularly care for corporate bullshit.

Your move.

ALTERNATE CLOSING LINE FROM THE NOTES
“I’m not asking you to throw out the rulebook. I’m asking whether you’ve got the guts to find out which rules are worth keeping.”
